Today's review is about Stranded!, written by Ɔvar ĆžĆ³r Benediktsson and illustrated by Anne Wilson. After reading the book blurb and seeing this wonderful cover, I quickly put my name down for a place on the book review tour. Thank you LiterallyPR, Barefoot Books and Ɔvar ĆžĆ³r Benediktsson for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

BOOK BLURB

This is a story about my grandfather: how he got STRANDED on a volcanic island, was almost turned into barbecue and found the most important moment in the world.

REVIEW

This delightful story is based on the adventures of author Ɔvar ĆžĆ³r Benediktsson's grandfather. This fantastic and true story contains only one element which is false. The reader is left guessing throughout the story, what this single false moment is - and I can guarantee the reader will never guess! I love this element which brings added fun to this already amazing and hugely entertaining story. To add to this story, there are wonderfully colourful illustrations by Anne Wilson. Peppered amongst these drawings are nuggets of facts, humour and additional information that make this read altogether enjoyable and interesting. After reading Stranded! I realised what a beautiful country Iceland is. This is somewhere else to add to my bucket list šŸ™‚

NEXT REVIEW

1st December 2023 - The Beastly Baron of Beaux Bottom, by Jeremy Hullah.

The Beastly Baron is not a nice man. He shouts too much and doesn't keep his promises. When he breaks his word to the Warty Witch though, things go very badly for him.
Then they get much worse!

I'm looking forward to reading this. It sounds like a children's book guaranteed to make the reader smile šŸ™‚

Until next time, Happy Reading! šŸ“š
