Greetings everyone š¾
I hope you're keeping safe and well.
What's the weather like where you are? šā š©ā
For the past week, everyone in the UK has been sweltering. It's lovely. It's great. To see clear blue skies and glorious sunshine followed by stunning sunsets makes me feel so happy!
But...for us dogs, this intense heat can be really uncomfortable. Our walks have been limited to early mornings only. Even the evenings are too hot!
Mom did start giving us ice cubes to munch, but then she read that it's not advisable.
Apparently it's not only a choking hazard but it can also damage their teeth. So, she's been putting crushed ice in our water bowl instead.
It's a bit like a plain slush puppy!
We also have a paddling pool but I HATE the water. Whereas Devon will only dip her nose in if there are goodies floating in the water.
As well as the fans humming and buzzing through the house, Mom's started gently rubbing an ice cube over us; now that's REALLY nice.
Other tips Mom's found for keeping us dogs nice and cool are:
Lying on a damp towel
Freezing the water bowl before adding water
Fill a hot water bottle with cold water
Lie in the shade
Keep it shady indoors by drawing the curtains
Cool mats (although we have one but won't lie on it!)
Fans - especially when directed towards our bed
As well as those helpful tips I've shared with you, Mom likes to try out her wardrobe on us. I don't mind, but Devon...well let's just say she's not too impressed...
Stay safe and cool my friends.
