Today's review is the second in the Glass Ceiling Club murder mystery series, called Murder by the Glass. This is a new genre for Maree, having completed a wonderful children's middle-grade fantasy adventure series called The Book of Mysteries, and a number of delightful dog-themed stories - which, those of you who know me, will realise this is a particular favourite theme of mine (yes, I'm a crazy dog-lover and proud dog-mum 🐾).
The first in her Glass Ceiling Club cosy murder mystery series, The Glass Ceiling Club, is a good story with likeable characters. There were a few twists and turns (which I particularly love), lots of action and plenty of humour. I was pleased to hear Maree had written a sequel featuring these amazing characters. Read on for a quick author bio, followed by the book blurb and my honest review.

AUTHOR BIO
Maree Church is the author of Dog Days in Italy: How I Became an Expat Dog, a quirky memoir of her twenty-year love affair with Italy, the homeland of her grandparents, The Book of Mysteries a middle-grade children’s fantasy series, and The Glass Ceiling Club Murder Mystery Series. Before starting her writing career, Ms. Church wore many hats (and she has left them in restaurants all over Italy). She has been a business consultant, small business owner, wine importer, English teacher, and slave to many pets of all types. When she isn't writing, she's taking care of her dogs, baking bread, working jigsaw puzzles, keeping in touch with doggy friends on social media, or preparing for visits from her son and his three young boys, who inspired this book. She lives in California with her husband and two crazy pups.

BOOK BLURB.
"Never wear a strapless dress to a murder." Well, we all learn from our mistakes, Chiara Chandler thought as she tugged at her new dress, making sure all the essential parts were covered.
What started out as a night of fabulous wine at a newer Napa Valley winery turned deadly during a Halloween-themed tour of the wine cave. But the death of Franco Rossini is only the beginning of a series of murders that may or may not be connected to the abduction of Chiara's reporter friend, Mary. When a law firm delivers a package from Mary with pages of an ancient diary, the members of The Glass Ceiling Club must unravel a web of secrets, lies, and strange occurrences including rumors of a ghost and a long-lost treasure.

MY REVIEW.
Murder by the Glass is the second in the Glass Ceiling Club murder mystery series by Maree Church.
I love a good murder mystery, and Murder by the Glass did not disappoint. There is action from start to finish and a great mix of characters which hold the story together soundly.
The story sees the return of Chiara Chandler, now an author of cosy crime, and her friends Allison, Beth and Mary. Chiara, Allison and Beth – aka, The Glass Ceiling Club – find themselves yet again embroiled in a murder mystery, only this time also involving kidnapping, ghostly apparitions and old legends of hidden treasure. What a mixture!
This fast-paced story immediately captured my interest. It’s got action, suspense and plenty of drama. There is also an element of humour which Maree seamlessly weaves into the story. Her characters are relatable and so real that you sometimes feel that you actually know them.
Murder by the Glass is a great sequel to The Glass Ceiling Club. I’d recommend it to all fans of cosy murder mysteries.
Thank you, Maree, for inviting me to review 'Murder by the Glass' and for providing me with a digital copy. I look forward to reading the next in the series.
